I pride myself on prompting and posing my couples in ways that spark emotion and bring out true reactions. Dancing together, whispering animal sounds, talking about their proudest moments – that kinda thing. Now I’ll be honest, most of my sessions also involve a heavy amount of touching and being really really close, because those kinds of couples are typically drawn to me! I think I just exert a “mushy-gushy” kind of energy, and they say what you put out is what you get back.
Kelly and Jeff are one of my rare couples who are not entirely “into” PDA and kissing on camera –*insert panicked shriek only dogs can hear*. BUT turns out finding unique ways to put them together that didn’t scream “rom-com” ended up being a pretty fun challenge! I was able to dive into a world with more artistic posing that displayed them in their “natural habitat”, if you will.
As we adventured through the gardens, I had such a blast learning about their life together. With Jeff being a Mechanical Engineer, and Kelly a Carnivore Conservation Specialist/Environment and Sustainability Department Coordinator/Adjunct Professor (basically yah girl’s smart AF), it was probably one of my most educational (for me) sessions to date! We walked through the botanical gardens as Kelly listed off the names of beautiful tropical plants and flowers. I said “no way!” more than I ever had, and I even learned that MOSQUITOS are pollinators! What a world.
